PRESS RELEASE: Toledo Water Crisis Documentary Goes Viral On YouTube

TOLEDO, OH — The Big Problem In The Great Lakes, a documentary on the Toledo Water Crisis of 2014 and the issue with algal blooms in Lake Erie, has quickly gone viral on YouTube since being released on the crisis’ ten year anniversary—August 2, 2024—according to the film’s local creator, Three Pines Production Company.

“I am thrilled and completely blown away by the response to The Big Problem In The Great Lakes,” says film director and Three Pines Production Company owner, Mike Balonek. “When we set out to make this film, we really didn’t know what to expect, we just felt it was important to address the issue of concentrated animal feeding operations polluting our water with animal waste and causing these algal blooms to grow out of control. That message really seems to have struck a nerve with everyone who watches the film.”

The film is available to watch for free on YouTube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbxnai-zqgU. Anyone interested in learning more can do so at www.thebigprobleminthegreatlakes.com.
