TOLEDO, OH — Today, Three Pines Production Company LLC of Toledo, Ohio released their documentary The Big Problem In The Great Lakes. The film tells the tale of the Toledo Water Crisis of 2014 as well as exploring the causes of the algal blooms that formed in western Lake Erie that forced the City of Toledo to declare its tap water unsafe to use.

PRESS RELEASE: Three Pines Production Company LLC Announces New Documentary On Toledo Water Crisis, Releases Trailer

TOLEDO, OH — Today, Three Pines Production Company LLC of Toledo, Ohio officially announced the new documentary The Big Problem In The Great Lakes, recounting the Toledo Water Crisis of 2014, as well as investigating the causes of the algal blooms that formed in Lake Erie that led to the City of Toledo declaring its tap water not safe to use. The film will be released on the ten year anniversary of the Water Crisis, August 2, 2024. The company is also releasing a trailer for the film today.

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz Interview

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz spoke eloquently on the need for better regulation of concentrated animal feeding operations in the Maumee River Watershed, as well as the improvements the City of Toledo has made to the water system in order to protect against the toxins produced by algal blooms in Lake Erie’s Western Basin.
